Ephesians 4:31-32 "31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. 32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you."
I’ve seen so many t-shirts, memes and bumper stickers lately that say, “I just don’t feel like adulting today…” To be honest most of us feel that way…being an adult is hard!
There are days we all just want to stomp our feet and shake our fist and let our inner toddler have control over our relationships, whether personal or professional and say out loud the first thing that comes to our minds.
Bitterness, wrath and anger the new triple threat often live in these moments. These three seeds when grown can bring the explosive trio of Fighting, Slander and Revengeful hate. When we allow them to grow, the lens that we view everything thru is now warped.
The world tells us this: To give as good as you get! That compassion is now considered to be weakness. We need to be strong. We have to get even. Once vengeance is fulfilled we’ll find peace. These are childish responses and we are called to be adults in the faith.
Peace comes through forgiveness. Forgiving others releases you from the constant pain and bitterness. You no longer have to drag that with you. You become free and can dedicate that energy to something more meaningful. This is what brings His Peace. Letting go to find hope and healing every single day…
Psalm 147:3 "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."
